Funding & Insurance Coverage
EXTENDED HEALTH BENEFIT PLANS
Physiotherapy treatment is usually covered in health benefit plans, as are several other relevant rehabilitation services. Check your plan for coverage details and if your insurer requires a doctor referral for reimbursement. Depending on your insurance company, you may even have access to direct billing.
If you have had surgery, a fracture or are low income you may qualify for an assessment and as many as six(6) funded physiotherapy treatments. Contact our clinics for more information.
Low income:
If you receive assistance from a government program, have an income below a specific level or are suffering from a temporary hardship, you may be eligible for an assessment and four (4) funded physiotherapy treatments. Contact one of our clinics for more information.
WORKERS’ COMPENSATION BOARD (WCB) COVERAGE
If you are injured at work, WCB will normally approve up to 21 treatment visits over six weeks. WCB pays for the first visit and after reports are submitted they will notify us if you claim has been accepted. Contact our clinics for more information.
AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE
If you have been injured in a car accident seek treatment within 10 days of your accident. Your insurance company will normally pre-approve up to 21 treatment visits over a 12 week period. You can consult a licensed physiotherapist directly and you do not need a physician referral.
VETERAN’S AFFAIRS, CANADIAN ARMED FORCES, RCMP
If you are a veteran or currently serving with the Armed Forces or the RCMP, you may have access to funding for therapy services through your government benefits. Contact Panther Sports and your health coordinator for more information.
